Extracurricular Activities

We are dedicated to providing all students with the educational foundation necessary to succeed in school and in life. To ensure your child’s success in different areas, we have set an extra activities program on Saturday morning for primary students.

The primary intention of this program is to enrich our student's education with organized activities that will inspire learning through a variety of techniques.  Teaching techniques will include Kinesthetic, Visual, Auditory and Tactile teaching methods. 

1. Swimming

Swimming is an activity that is accessible to all ages. It provides great cardiovascular workout as well as workout for the whole body including the arms, back, shoulders and even improves balance and posture. In addition, swimming is a way to prevent childhood obesity

APPLETREE chose this activity to promote our students an active lifestyle. It is also fantastic for visually impaired children they can learn about body image and space by using concrete reference points such as the water level or the side of the pool. The water offers intensive sensory stimulation for children with multiple disabilities which other environments cannot provide.

2. Football

Football is one of the most popular sport in the world. The nature of the game means that children may be sprinting, running fast or slow, and sometimes may be standing around. It is great for fitness and cardiovascular health. Children of various ages and skill levels can participate in football, with those of various sizes being able to do equally well.

APPLETREE chose this activity to teach coordination, to promote teamwork and sharing, to help increase skills in concentration, persistence and self-discipline, and to enjoy an international sport.

3. Taekwondo

Taewondo is a Korean martial art, similar to karate, with an emphasis on kicking techniques. The reason behind this is the leg is more powerful and has a longer reach than the arm. One of the main benefits of this activity is improving our children strength and balance.

APPLETREE chose this activity to teach breathing and meditation techniques to assist in learning focus. Students must learn to follow directions from teacher and are expected to show respect to them. It is also reduce aggression.

4. Table tennis

The sport is popular all around the world. It offers entertainment, good cardiovascular exercise and health benefits to students of different ages and fitness levels. APPLETREE chose this activity to help eye-hand coordination, and how to use reflexes, balance, planning and strategy. It is a great activity for the mind and body.

5.  Music

Music plays an important role in our culture. You would find music present in many aspects of our lives: Theater, television, movies, celebrations…

APPLETREE chose to provide music activities to our students, especially piano and guitar, because it supports all areas of child development: Intellectual, social and emotional, motor, language and overall literacy. It helps the body and mind work together. 

6. Dance

Children are naturally interested in music and dance, it is naturally good for them. APPLETREE chose dancing activities to helps children build motor skills while allowing them to practice self-expression. It really push strengthen memory skills.

Children dance to the music of their favorite bands and use music to form friendships and share feelings. It is an enjoyable and beautiful activity to gain new language and social skills.
